MY STORY

Over the years I have seen a lot of unfulfilled potential within people around me. One of the main reasons for this has been their mindset.

I realised that by cultivating a growth mindset, I could live a more fulfilling life and could guide others towards it as well.

Hi, I’m Pankti Parikh Killawala.

Previously, I was a successful Actuary working in Insurance M&A, Company Strategy, Capital, Solvency II and Reporting. I worked with major insurance players and consultants in the market. Even as a qualified Actuary, I never stopped learning and was part of various working groups set up by the Actuarial Institute for new regulations impacting the insurance sector. However, my career took a turn when I had my daughters.

Going back to work after my second maternity was not the same. With the pandemic, the lines between work and home had blurred. Balancing work from home along with two children under the age of four was very tough to say the least. I felt a complete burnout and a constant feeling of guilt about not doing enough for my girls. As I engaged in self-reflection, it occurred to me that something needed to change and that I wasn’t enjoying my actuarial work as much as I did before maternity.

While on maternity with both my kids, I started reading about child development and neuroscience. I had time to think about what I wanted to do with my life. As an Actuary, I enjoyed building teams and mentoring colleagues. I was also a go to person for anyone who needed career advice (be it friends, family or colleagues and even my husband!). It was a eureka moment when I decided to combine my passion for mentoring and coaching and pursue a diploma in Coaching, Neuroscience and Positive Psychology. This so far has been the best decision for me. I am an ACC level accredited coach with the International Coaching Federation (ICF).

Over the years I have seen a lot of unfulfilled potential within people around me. One of the main reasons for this has been mindset. Upon learning about the different mindsets, I realised how the fixed and growth mindset had impacted me in different phases of my life and how contrary to popular belief, I did not fall into the camp of the fixed or growth mindset but moved through either camp based on my environment and expectation of me at different points in my life.

I realised that by cultivating a growth mindset, I could live a more fulfilling life and could guide others to do it as well.

Well-being has been at the forefront of my goals forever. I am not only talking about physical exercise but also mental well-being. This has been more important since the pandemic, to enable me to bring my full authentic self to work and for my family.

Self-care though underrated is a priority for me as I have seen the difference in my well-being and patience with a little TLC.

Are you ready to take action?

If you are ready to take the next step to achieve a more balanced and fulfilling life, I would love to work with you.
